At Camp Settoga we are thoughtful about food—where it is sourced, how it is prepared, and the healthy variety of foods we expose campers to throughout the summer. Our kid-friendly approach includes children’s favorites, while also introducing fruits and vegetables from our garden. Lunch is served family style and campers share a table with their friends and counselors. This creates a sense of community at the table and invites our campers to practice hospitality, passing, and serving. Kids also take ownership of their eating as they make food choices for themselves and learn to manage portion sizes. Our counselors politely encourage the campers to try new foods, make healthy choices, and stay hydrated.
Lunch is a true highlight of the day—where delicious food is enjoyed, where kids get to enjoy important space to socialize, and where the Camp Settoga spirit is alive and well! Our new daily lunch program includes a hot main course, fruit, and water to drink. Camp is nut-aware, and does not serve peanuts or tree nuts. We also are happy to work with families whose children have other food allergies. Snacks are served each morning and afternoon, and special snacks are served to celebrate campers' birthdays.
