The physical safety and emotional well-being of our campers and staff are our top priorities. Our health center is an air-conditioned building, equipped with a medication room, triage room, and beds that allow campers to rest. Our facility is staffed by a certified nurse and EMT. A counselor always accompanies a child to the health center, and a detailed report is filed by the nurse and staff member after each visit.
At Settoga, the emotional well-being of our campers and staff is a top priority. Our experienced camper care team works to support all members of our community before, during, and even after the summer. They work with each counselor team to recognize and support a variety of campers' needs, while also serving as partners in developing unique strategies to encourage self-confidence, strong communication skills, positive conflict resolution, and overall social-emotional well-being. This team often reaches out to families in advance of the summer to better understand any camper needs or unique situations so the entire Settoga team is best equipped to support each camper from the moment camp begins. While a camper's unit head is a family's primary point of contact during the summer, camper care team members are always available to connect with camp families directly. Our camper care team works closely with all leadership team members, counselors, and campers to provide personalized guidance, support, and supervision for every member of the Settoga community, ensuring that personal growth is a key aspect of all Settoga summers.
Camp Settoga is a peanut- and tree nut-aware facility. We also provide daily gluten-free options for lunch and snack. Our camp leadership team works actively to accommodate any food allergies and dietary restrictions.
