Yes, we are honored to be accredited by the American Camp Association.

Bus stops are based on the general locations of most of our camp families. We work with the bus company to determine the routes that will be the easiest and fastest ways to transport your child into and out of the city. We currently have bus stops on the UWS, UES, Chelsea, Harlem, and Murray Hill. Please call the camp office to talk about adding a new stop near you!

The buses generally wait two minutes at each stop, and the bus counselors will call your home before leaving the stop. Unfortunately, we do not offer alternate methods to get to camp.

Bus Mail is the best way to make sure that your child’s staff is aware of any thoughts, concerns, or issues for that day. Please write a note with the pertinent information and hand it to your child’s bus counselor in the morning. The bus counselor will give this to the Head Staff at camp, who will ensure that the information is dealt with properly and efficiently. While you can call or email camp, the Bus Mail system is the best way to make sure the staff understands and handles your concerns first thing in the morning. Pictures are shared regularly on our camp app.

The camp office sends out regular emails to inform parents about the goings-on in camp. At the end of each week, each group’s counselors send home a newsletter telling families about the week at camp. Parents are welcome to call the camp office to check in as well. Parents are also able to send notes to their child’s counselors through a system called bus notes, an envelope given to the bus counselor that will then be given to the child’s counselor. Finally, photos and information about daily activities are also shared on the camp app.

We are excited to offer a full service lunch program! Our kosher, kid-friendly, and healthy lunches include baked chicken nuggets, make-your-own tacos, pizza, and quesadillas. There is also a delicious salad bar and sandwich bar each day. Snack is served twice each day. Morning snacks include fresh fruit and cut vegetables; afternoon snacks include crackers and dip, frozen yogurt pops and more! Click here to learn more about lunch and snacks at camp.

Throughout the day, we maintain a 5:1 camper to staff ratio. Most bunks have 15 campers and 3 staff members. The campers also interact with a large number of specialty staff each day.

Camp Settoga offers indoor spaces to accommodate inclement weather conditions. Campers play games inside under the supervision of our dedicated counselors and staff as they are put on an adjusted schedule. Bus pick-ups and drop-offs will take place at their regularly scheduled times. In addition, parents will receive an email update during the day informing them of the inclement weather plans.
