CAMP DIRECTOR

Jessica Spiegel

Jessica comes to Camp Settoga with more than 15 years of experience leading camps and supporting campgrounds in New York and New Jersey. Most recently, Jessica was the director of supplementary religious schools. She holds an MA in Jewish Education from The Jewish Theological Seminary, and a BA in International Studies, Jewish Studies, and Hebrew from The University of Wisconsin. Jessica believes deeply in the power of camp and looks forward to the joy, energy, and creativity of overseeing a dynamic camp team. Jessica lives in New Jersey with her family, backyard chickens, and a cat. Her favorite camp food is campfire Challah.

DIRECTOR OF CAMPER CARE

SARA ALDERMAN

Sara began working at Camp Settoga in 2018 when she joined the Leadership Team as a Unit Head. After three summers in this role, Sara became the Care Team Director in which she oversees the mental, social, and emotional health of all campers and staff. Sara received her Master's degree in Social Work from Columbia University with a focus on Family and Children Services. During the year, Sara is the School Social Worker at the Ramaz School serving students in Nursery through 4th grade. Sara's favorite part of camp, from the days she was a camper until now, is the personal growth experienced by campers and staff alike, in just a few short weeks.  
Assistant Director

Mary Gipe

Mary began working for the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan in February 2020, when she joined the Camps Department as Assistant Director of Camps-Programming. Mary’s passion for camps began in the summer of 2015, when she began working for the 92nd Street Y Camps, as a counselor, going on to become programming head counselor, then musical theater program director. She became the arts and education coordinator at the JCC of Greater Baltimore in 2018, working in camps and after-school programming, Mary received her BFA in musical theater from Western Carolina University in 2018 and she strives to intertwine her love for performance with program development and education. She is overjoyed to be a part of such a dedicated team of “camp people” just like herself.

Talia Feldman

Talia Feldman is excited to be part of the JCC Camps community! Talia has spent her summer at camp for as long as she can remember! After graduating from The University of Delaware, she worked as the Teen Program Coordinator at Congregation Beth El in South Orange NJ for two years. She was a teacher in Classroom 1 at the Nursery School at the JCC. She is passionate about camp, Jewish education and working with children. Talia is excited to bring all of those together in this role.
